Uploading User Certificate for a Single User

This topic describes the process for uploading a user certificate for single user.

Before you begin this task:
This procedure is used only during creating users using user certificates.


To create a certified user, you need to upload a digital certificate to define the log in credentials for the user. Associating a certificate will ensure secured access to Cordys.

  1. Click Use Certificate button in the Create User window. The Upload User Certificate dialog box appears.
  2. Click to browse and select the certificate on your local machine.


    CAUTION:You are required to upload user's base64 certificates (PEM Format) only.


  3. After uploading the certificate, following fields are filled with the necessary information automatically.

    Field

    Description

    Identity

    This is generated depending on the property value which can be one of the following:

  • Combination of Issuer and Serial number values, which is set by default.
  • Subject Value

    Issuer

    Specifies the issuer field of the user's certificate.

    Subject

    Specifies the subject field of the user's certificate which comprises user details that uniquely identify the user.

    Serial Number

    Specifies the serial-number field of the user's certificate.



  1. Click OK button to continue with the certificate.
  2. The Identity field information of the Upload User Certificate dialog box is captured in the User ID field, there by setting the user identity value.
    Note: Values for Subject and issuer DNs follow prescribed formats, that govern the order of their attributes. Sample DNs for both are mentioned below:
